CONTO ALLA ROVESCIA per il catalogo “Pause tra caos e armonia” Forme nel Verde 2018 e qualche anticipazione sul Focus della prossima rassegna!

In occasione della presentazione del catalogo di Forme nel Verde 2018 “Pause tra caos e armonia”, al Comune e alle Accademie di Belle Arti di Carrara e di Firenze,  si procederà all’introduzione di FR/AGILE! – Forme nel Verde 2019, il progetto pensato da Gaia Pasi per la 49°edizione della rassegna di arte contemporanea – 20 luglio – 30 settembre 2019 –   che riflette sulla formazione culturale delle nuove generazioni d’artisti, attraverso le pagine del libro “Antifragile – prosperare nel disordine” di Nassim Nicholas Taleb” (il Saggiatore 2013).

“Antifragile è il saggio che supera l’incapacità di razionalizzare l’imprevedibile: siamo ciechi di fronte al caso. “I cigni neri dominano la società e la storia”, è inutile tentare di combattere per tentare di ingabbiarli in razionalizzazioni posteriori, tanto vale “passare direttamente alle questioni pratiche”, ovvero fare i conti con la fragilità. Fragile è quello che si spacca, il robusto sopporta il dolore per rimanere uguale a sé stesso, ma è solo l’antifragile che trae vantaggio dall’incertezza e dalla scossa, prospera nel disordine, ama l’errore. Il focus passa quindi dal concetto di rischio (che è difficilmente misurabile) a quello di fragilità. Nel mondo di Taleb, fatto di relazioni e sistemi complessi, non sono le macchine o i computer perfettamente programmati ad avere la meglio: per quanto robusti, si usureranno prima o poi. A vincere sono invece gli antifragili, che non sono programmabili, ma mutevoli, e migliorano traendo beneficio dalla violenza a cui (inesorabilmente) madre natura li sottopone. Lo stress si rivela essere non più un disagio, ma una vitale fonte di informazioni, un prezioso indirizzo per muoversi in un mondo complesso e pieno di insidie”. Nassim Nicholas Taleb è un filosofo, mate­matico e operatore di borsa. In the event of the presentation of Pause tra caos e armonia (Pause between chaos and harmony) Forme nel Verde 2018 catalogue, the Municipality of San Quirico d’Orcia and the Florentine and Carraran Academies of Fine Arts will proceed to introduce FR / AGILE! – Forme nel Verde 2019, the project conceived by Gaia Pasi for the 49th edition of the contemporary art exhibition, scheduled to be held on 20 July – 30 September 2019 to reflects on the cultural formation of new generations of artists, through the pages of the book “Antifragile: How to Live in a World We Don’t Understand” by Nassim Nicholas Taleb”. “Antifragile is the wise individual who overcomes their inability to rationalise the unpredictable: blind to chance. “Black swans dominate society and history”, it is useless to try to fight and cage them in our rationalisations that we would rather “go directly to the practical issues” than deal with fragilità (vulnerability). Fragile (vulnerability) is what breaks apart, bearing the pain to remain equal to itself, but only the antifragile takes advantage of uncertainty and shock, thrives in disorder, and loves the errs. Shifting the focus from the concept of risk (which is difficult to measure) to that of fragility.

In the world of Taleb, made up of complex relationships and systems, it is not perfectly programmed machines or computers that get the better of us: however robust they may be, they will wear out sooner or later. The winners are instead the antifragile, which are not programmable, but inter-changeable, and improve by benefiting from the violence to which mother nature subjects them. Stress is no longer a discomfort, but a vital source of information, a precious tool to move through a complex world full of pitfalls.”
