Un nuovo direttore artistico per Forme nel Verde? andiamo a conoscerlo!

Il Comune di San Quirico d’Orcia,  ha affidato la direzione artistica di Forme nel Verde alla curatrice Gaia Pasi, che ha un curriculum professionale legato a doppio filo alle vicende della giovane arte contemporanea emergente, alla critica e al mercato di questo settore;

Formatasi all’Università degli Studi di Siena con Enrico Crispolti, cresciuta  negli anni del Palazzo delle Papesse di Sergio Risaliti;  Gaia Pasi inizia ben presto a scrivere come pubblicista nei giornali del settore artistico contemporaneo: Exibart, Artribune, Espoarte, Segno, Flash Art, ArsKey (2000-2007). Parallelamente lavora come curatore residente per Galleria Bagnai (2005/6), per Galleria Ugolini (2007/9), proponendo mostre di artisti under 35; nel 2009 coordina con il curatore Antonio Arevalo il Padiglione del Cile alla 52 Biennale di Venezia; Nel 2010 fonda Galleria Zak Project Space una provocatoria galleria di soli artisti italiani under 35 che  diventa un bacino di nuove proposte per i colleghi e per il mercato e una nuova possibilità di sbocco: da l 2011 partecipa alle fiere di Bologna, Torino, Milano, Roma e Swab Barcellona vincendo il premio come miglior galleria emergente d’Europa.  Dal 2016 insegna pratica curatoriale, museologia e storia del collezionismo all’istituto Marangoni di Firenze, dirige e cura progetti per Enti Pubblici e Privati tra i quali l’annuale Street Poster Festival Art PERCORSI IN COMUNE, per il Comune di Monteriggioni!

Dice Gaia Pasi “..Dal giorno che ho chiuso Galleria Zak Project Space – perchè dopo 5 anni non sei più “galleria emergente” e quindi anche se continui a fare gli emergenti devi pagare il prezzo dei “senior” per entrare alle fiere e per il mio programma non era sostenibile –  ho cominciato ad insegnare e a dedicarmi, grazie a Dio, con successo, a progetti pubblici, bandi europei, regionali, proposte di intervento nei palinsesti comunali. Spero di fare un buon lavoro anche a San Quirico, certo sarebbe importante dare un senso alla rassegna, io lavoro con i giovanissimi perciò una svolta ci sarà di sicuro, ma è urgente capire la via che prenderà il progetto nel futuro, per impostarlo al meglio. Non ha più senso che una rassegna di quasi 50 anni navighi a vista, non abbia una struttura solida necessaria per crescere e diventare un punto di riferimento per la cultura internazionale: a San Quirico non manca niente per diventare come Munster Non ci vorrebbe molto a far tornare Forme nel Verde al successo del passato, certo ci vuole un piano preciso che poi va seguito anno dopo anno per crescere”.

The Municipality of San Quirico d’Orcia has entrusted the artistic direction of Forme nel Verde to curator Gaia Pasi, who has a professional curriculum linked to the events done with young emerging artists in contemporary art, the critics, and the market of this sector;

Trained at the University of Siena with Enrico Crispolti, who grew up in the years of Sergio Risaliti’s Palazzo delle Papesse, Gaia Pasi soon began to write as a publicist for newspapers in the contemporary art sector: Exibart, Artribune, Espoarte, Segno, Flash Art, ArsKey (2000-2007). At the same time she worked as resident curator for Galleria Bagnai (2005/6) and Galleria Ugolini (2007/9), proposing exhibitions of artists under 35; in 2009 she coordinated with the curator Antonio Arevalo, the Chilean Pavilion at the 52nd Venice Biennale; in 2010 she founded Galleria Zak Project Space, a provocative gallery of only Italian artists under 35 that became a pool of new proposals for colleagues and the market, a new outlet of possibilities: from 2011 she participated in multiple fairs: Bologna, Turin, Milan, Rome and Swab, Barcelona, winning the best emerging gallery in Europe award.  Since 2016, she has been teaching curatorial practice, museology, and the history of collectionists at Istituto Marangoni Institute Florence. She has directed and curated projects for public and private bodies, including the annual Street Poster Art Festival PERCORSI IN COMUNE, for the Municipality of Monteriggioni!

Gaia Pasi stated that “… Since the day I closed the Galleria Zak Project Space – because after 5 years you are no longer an “emerging gallery” and so even if you continue to be an emerging gallery you’ll have to pay the price of being a “senior gallery” to enter the fairs and it was unsustainable for my program – I began to teach and devote myself, thank God, with success, to public projects, European and regional calls, proposals for intervention in municipal programs. I hope to do a good job at San Quirico, of course it would be important to make sense of the review, I work with the young so there will be a breakthrough for sure, but there is an urgent need to understand the path that the project will take in the future, to set it up in the best possible way. It no longer makes sense for an exhibition with almost 50 years of experience to not have the necessary solid structure to grow and become a reference point for international culture: San Quirico lacks nothing to become like Munster. It wouldn’t take long for Forme nel Verde to return to its past successes, certainly a concise plan is needed to be followed year after year in order to grow”.
